FOOTBALL: Norton & Stockton Ancients JFC are holding their fourth junior football tournament on Sunday 18 July 2004. It is one of the largest one day junior tournaments in the North with over 160 teams attending and hopes are high that people will go along and watch. There are juniors teams from eight years of age, both girls and boys, from as far as Liverpool and Blackpool attending, as well as more local teams.
WATER POLO: Sedgefield '75's waterpolo squad men's team played out an exciting 13-13 draw at home to Leeds in the Northern League. Leeds, who are also in National League division two, were three goals up at half-time and four goals up going into the last quarter, but Sedgefield showed tremendous resolve to get level. The youngest player, Scott Carpenter, 15, scored five goals and his father, chief coach George Carpenter and the oldest player, scored three goals.
George Carpenter Jnr made a rare appearance in goal and performed well despite lack of training due to his rugby commitments with Newcastle Falcons.
CRICKET: A London touring team, based at Northallerton, are seeking a fixture - Darlington and District League standard - for July 14. Contact John Grant on (01325) 720073.
GAMES: The Magnet Games League Annual General Meeting is to be held at the Hospice Social Club on July 28 at 7.30. Any darts or 5s and 3s teams wishing to join the league should be represented.

The league kicks off Saturday September 4. Closing date for applications to the league is Wednesday July 28th July.
RUGBY: Darlington MPR Ladies FC are currently looking for players. All ladies age 15 and over are welcome to come along to training with a view to playing a match on a Sunday for the coming season. If you're interested please call Di Jackson on 07746 432073.
