Coors League: Tow Law New Market A made a stunning start in their quest to repeat their Championship win of last season when they only dropped one point against the visiting Cornsay Royal Oak and so took revenge for the defeat they suffered in last season's Knock Out Cup Final.
Only Chris Close managed to take a singles point for the Royal Oak, whilst the home side took the two trebles, the three doubles and singles from Gary Parker, Kenneth Atkinson, George Hope, Bon McFadden and Stephen Umpelby.

Crook Ladies League
Willington New Inn only dropped one point to their hosts at Billy Row Royal George to stay five points clear at the top of the table. Crook Queen's Head A are in second place following their win for the loss of only one point over the visiting Tow Law Black Horse. Tow Law New Market are seven points behind the Queen's A with Crook Jelly's Bar B a further point adrift but with a match in hand.
The leading individual scorers were Margaret Stewart 140 and Marion Hesp with 132 and 125 for the Queen's Head A, Pam Barron 140 for Jelly's B, Mary Murray 133 and Doris Elsbury 131 for the New Market B, Gladys March 133 for Crook Belle Vue, Christine Ridley 132 for Billy Row A, Michelle Blyth 128 for Billy Row B and Emma Spencer 125 for the Station B.
