AN archaeology conference is to be held at the weekend.
The village of Hovingham, near Malton, will host the event, which has been organised by the Worsley family of Hovingham Hall.
It will be led by Sir Marcus Worsley, patron of the Yorkshire Archaeological Society (YAS), and Dr Peter Addyman, the president.
The event aims to examine the history of Hovingham, childhood home of the Duch-ess of Kent, and the Worsley family's estate on the Howardian Hills.
Other speakers will include Steve Moorhouse, Dr Richard Morris, Terry Manby, Dr Margaret Atherden and a team from English Heritage.
Dr Giles Worsley will lead a walk around the village and a reception will be held in the ballroom of Hovingham Hall, by William Worsley.
Guests will be offered a tour of the hall.
There will also be a walk around the estate's park and High Wood to examine earthworks and other archaeological features.
Sponsored by the YAS, the conference will start on Saturday.
