GUIDED tours are being offered round a church which dates from Medieval times.
Open afternoons are being staged once a week at St Michael and All Angels' Church, Houghton-le-Spring, which is just off the A690 Durham to Sunderland dual carriageway.
Staff will be on hand to identify historical aspects of the church.
They will also tell stories about the building, in The Broadway, which served the once-wealthy parish of Houghton.
Visitors will be able to see the progress of restoration work on the stained glass windows in St Michael's.
Guided tours for parishioners, and visitors to the area will take place throughout the rest of the summer, between noon and 4pm on Thursdays.
