INTERNATIONAL athlete Allison Curbishley put County Durham students through their paces when she attended the city's first ever development camp.
Young people participated in a variety of sports such as athletics, hockey, tennis, basketball, girls' football, rugby and fencing where they developed their skills, technique, tactics and team play.
It was organised by Durham Gilesgate Sports College Sixth Form Centre and secondary schools in Durham and the School Sport Co-ordinator Programme.
The three-day event was held at the Graham Sports Centre, Maiden Castle. The camp also gave students opportunities to develop fitness and leadership skills and provided information about sporting opportunities in Durham and the clubs available.
Director of PE and Sport at Durham Gilesgate Sports College and Sixth Form Centre Gill Foster said: "This was an excellent opportunity for students. As a result of this success we are hoping to make this an annual event.
