YOUNGSTERS are being invited to libraries across Stockton borough to take part in a literary challenge.
The Reading Rollercoaster will take place throughout the school summer holidays, with youngsters being asked to complete a registration card that can be exchanged for a collectors' pack containing a rollercoaster collector folder and a bookmark.
Children can read and review books to collect stickers that can be placed on the collector folder background to complete a reading rollercoaster including loops, tunnels, waterslides and rollercoaster cars.
When youngsters complete the challenge, they will receive a certificate, medal, pen and a fortune-telling game.
Libraries are also running a Bookstart Book Crawl throughout the holidays aimed at encouraging children under five to join libraries across the borough and read six books.
Youngsters will receive a Bookstart Book Crawl card and, after having it stamped six times, will receive a certificate.
To take part in the free challenge, visit any library.
