SCORES of children from across the region joined a former Pop Idol contestant on stage last night in the musical Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Andrew Derbyshire, who made it to the last 50 in the ITV show in 2001, is starring in the Andrew Lloyd Webber show at Darlington Civic Theatre until Saturday.
About 80 children from Stagecoach Theatre School, which takes pupils from all over the North-East, are taking part in the production.
Stagecoach principal Trudy Hindmarsh said: "They've done 20 hours of training in the songs - the singing in Joseph is very hard actually. They are all really excited though."
