A RENAISSANCE team could bring a district more than £10m of investment if it is set up, council officials have said.
The Ryedale team - of a renaissance manager, two market town development officers and a technical support officer - would cost £150,000 a year.
It would aim to identify projects and maximise investment from Yorkshire Forward, European Objective 2 and the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
A number of projects are already under way in Ryedale, including identifying development opportunities along the Malton and Norton rail and river corridor.
The proposal will be discussed by the community services and licensing committee on Thursday.
