ACCORDING to a report, students no longer spend the summer holidays lazing around and sunning themselves.
Supermarket Tesco said it employed 29,000 students, a 55 per cent increase on four years ago, mainly in their home town stores.
When study and revision time was added to work, a typical student was taking 30 days of genuine holiday a year, closer to the five weeks taken by full-time workers, said Tesco.
Dan Weintrob, human resources manager, said: "Many people have traditionally envied the idea of students having endless summers to look forward to, but the reality is often very different.
