Barnard Castle Town Council is inviting entries for its sixth annual garden competition.
This year the council has added a fourth category - Hanging Baskets, Tubs and Window Boxes, which is open to householders and businesses.
The other categories are: householders - ordinary-sized gardens; householders - small gardens/patios; and business gardens.
Prizes of £50, £30 and £20 will be awarded in each category. Certificates of commendation will also be awarded.
Entry forms can be obtained and returned to St Teresa's Hospice Shop, Hall Street, Barnard Castle, or Castle Cards, Market Place, Barnard Castle. Returned entries should be marked Garden Competition, for the attention of Councillor Margaret Hamilton.

Entries must be received by Tuesday, July 27. Judging will take place in mid-August and the awards will be presented on Monday, September 6.
