A CONFECTIONER has begun production of a new chocolate bar.
But delights such as Nutty Crunch Surprise and Whipple Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight are unlikely ever to be found in shops.
Instead, they will be featured on film in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Nestl Rowntree's York factory has produced more than 100,000 wrapped dummy bars to eight designs for the film, now in production at Pine-wood Studios.
The movie stars Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka and is being directed by the man who bought Batman and Edward Scissorhands to the big screen, Tim Burton.
Nestl Rowntree's managing director Chris White has been invited to the studios next week.
Marketing director Sam Hunter said the Wigginton Road plant could still be used by the filmmakers in some capacity, possibly for an outside factory shot.
He said: "A lot of hard work has gone into this, but it has gone really well.
"It was very exciting and a lot of fun."
