YOUNG would-be actors are getting the chance to work alongside professionals this summer.
The award-winning Pilot Theatre Company, based in York, is holding a week-long summer school during the holiday.
The school gives young people between the ages of 12 and 19 the chance to work with professional artists to create a short production, which will be presented at York Theatre Royal Studio at the end of the week.
Working on the story of Lord of the Flies, the youngsters will create their own performance as well as having the opportunity to be involved in workshops on lighting, music, sound, marketing and publicity.
Tickets for the summer school are £45 for the full week, with a concessionary rate of £25.
The school will take place between 11am and 5pm from August 23 to August 28.
To enrol, call (01904) 635755.
Pilot will present their own award-winning production of Lord of the Flies at York Theatre Royal from September 28 to October 2.
