THERE were mixed fortunes for Nine Pins in Division One as they lost out against Kirkwood only to bounce back and gains some revenge with an emphatic win over West End.
Some uninspiring bowling saw Kirkwood to 134-8 with A Malik top scoring with 35 while Nine Pins only managed 106-8 in their reply with David Hope top scoring with 33.
It was different against the West End as Nine Pins reached 130-5 with Peter Scott 34 not out. Mal Mullany then snapped up 4-16 as West End were dismissed for 80.
Three wickets apiece from Jeff Thomson and Don Catley saw Aidan House routed for only 44 and giving Rowlands CA victory after they had earlier struggled to 76-8 with Matt Hynd hitting 28.
In Division Two, Adders won by eight wickets after Lalith (6-21) had kept Tyne Tees Television to just 76-7.
Coquet with Keith Chapman 47 not out cruised to a ten wickets win after shooting out Bar BHT for just 60 with Peter Chapman snapping up 3-11 from four overs.
Cumberland Partners looked in trouble when Peter Hamil took 5-32 and Graham Turnbull 5-32 for Tyne & Wear Fire Brigade who were then shot out themselves for only 64. Alex Giles took four wickets for as many runs and received excellent support from Steve Mordue 3-24.
