A life-saving Message in a Bottle scheme is spreading across North Yorkshire.
The scheme encourages householders to put emergency information inside a container, which is stored in the fridge for safekeeping.
The small, waterproof bottle contains information such as contact numbers for next of kin and doctors, drug information, long-term medical conditions and allergies.
A label is placed on the fridge and the house door.
Easingwold Lions have handed out 300 bottles to people living in and around the market town and they have taken delivery of another 300.
The group is working with the Hambleton Community Safety Partnership, who promote the initiative
Community safety officer Alison Oldfield said: "If just one life is saved because the emergency services had access to essential information the scheme has been worth it."
