PLANS to turn a former pig farm into a concrete manufacturing plant are acceptable, says a planning chief.
Lightwater Farms Ltd has applied to North Yorkshire County Council to develop the manufacturing plant at Potgate Farm, North Stainley, near Ripon.
Aggregate from the quarry would be being mixed with cement to create blocks and decorative products.
Planning officer Neville Watson will recommend Harrogate Borough Council makes no objections to the plan when it meets on Tuesday. A final decision will be taken by county planners.
Mr Watson says the scheme will help diversify an existing farming business.
