PORTABLE classrooms could soon be consigned to the history books in Middlesbrough.
Councillors are expected to approve a schools' investment programme of nearly £6m at a meeting next week.
One result of that would be mobile classrooms phased out within two years.
An even more ambitious upgrade of the town's secondary schools is contained in a separate £90m bid to the Government's building schools for the future programme.
The plan is a mix of new and upgraded buildings.
