Under 15s: Horden and Sunderland produced a high scoring game during which 278 runs were scored for the loss of just six wickets.

Batting first, Sunderland realised 157 for three which included 65 by Bewick, of which ten boundaries and an unbeaten 30 from Smithson with one six and three fours.

In reply, Horden challenged when their overs expired had made only 121 for three of which Paul Dixon scored 55 with three sixes and three fours. Anthony Foss contributed 26 with four boundaries and Scott Birks added 23 finding the boundary line on three occasions. Davidson was the most productive bowler in the Sunderland attack ending with three for 16 in five overs.

Runs were in short supply for Durham City visiting Hetton Lyons where they were all out for just 33 as Michael Walker took three wickets for 11 runs in five overs. When the Lyons made first use of the wickets they totalled 127 for six which included 25 apiece by brothers Callum and Ryan Pringle. Ryan, who struck three boundaries ended undefeated while Callum had five fours in his total.

The leading run-maker though was Alan Marcham with 32 including six fours.

South Hetton enjoyed a ten wickets victory at home to Philadelphia, who fielding a young side, managed only 59 for two which included a top scoring unbeaten 16 by Derek Steinberg. Craig Noble took both the wickets to fall for 15 runs in five overs before South Hetton replied with 63 for none as Gary Ashcroft ended unbeaten on 31 and Scott Smith contributed 24 not out.

Burnmoor overtook the Felling total of 83 for five with seven wickets remaining. Dan Embleton was their top scorer with 19 and for Felling Adam Gorge captured all three wickets to go down for 15 runs in five overs.

Michael Lowther top performed with the bat for Felling finding the boundary line on four occasions scoring 41 and for Burnmoor Anderson claimed two wickets for just five runs in an economical five over spell.

Liam Mallaburn (36) and Jefferson (22) scored most of the runs when Eppleton posted 76 for two against South Shields at Wood Terrace. The home side won losing just two wickets as Chris Watson ended undefeated on 29 as Oliver Stedman added 26.

Michael Turns (94 no) was in magnificent form as was Peter Marshall (67) when Whitburn realised the huge total of 194 for one from just overs at home to Gateshead Fell who were pegged to 74 for seven which included 22 by Porter.

Marsden had 23 runs to spare over Boldon at Clark Park. Andrew Raine scored more than half the team's total making 46 of the Marsden score of 76 for seven while for Boldon Richard Martin took four wickets for 27 runs and Stephen Martin two for seven, the pair each scoring five overs.

Chris Tomlin had three for 18 and Andrew Raine two for eight when Boldon were restricted to 53 for six.

Under-18s

The programme was badly affected by the weather but South Shields managed to stage their game at Felling at Wood Terrace and were rewarded with an emphatic ten wickets victory.

When they batted first Felling managed only 40 as Kris McShane took four wickets for only 17 runs in six overs and Greg Siddell also delivered six overs returning two for ten.

The target was comfortable for South Shields and Chris Dorothy finished undefeated on 20 and Chris Nichol made 16 not out as the pair produced an unbroken first wicket partnership of 41.

Eppleton defeated neighbours Hetton Lyons by 37 runs. When they made first use of the wickets Eppleton realised 107 for seven before reducing Hetton Lyons to 70 for four.

Most of the other games were completely washed out without a ball being bowled.
