JUDGES have been named for The Northern Echo's Revolution Big Chance music competition.
The contest aims to find the best band or artist in the region and the winner will receive time in the Sanity Multimedia Recording Studio, 100 CDs and free CD artwork by House of Type.
Its judging panel is made up of Steve Wales, manager, Music Zone Darlington, Sean Leonard, Revolution web editor, and Sheelagh Caygill, Michael Atkinson and Michael Ward, who work for The Northern Echo.
Panel members will select the ten best entries and their tracks will be uploaded onto the Revolution website to give music fans a chance to select four finalists.
The four entries with the highest number of votes from fans and judges will perform at the Big Chance final at The Forum Music Centre, Darlington, on September 24.
One winner will be selected by a separate judging panel.
Entrants must be from the North-East or North Yorkshire and are asked to send a one-track CD or MP3 of original material to the address found on www.thisisrevolution.co.uk.
The competition is sponsored by Music Zone, Blackett Hart and Pratt, Air Clothing and Fourth Chamber.
