The Cestrians Under-11s defeated a young but enthusiastic Hetton Lyons side by 167 runs at Ropery Lane on Sunday morning with Alex Ryan impressing with the bat scoring 32 not out in 5 overs.
Exceptional bowling by Robert Richardson, 4o 5w 21r and Bradley Davis 3o 4w 9r laid the foundation for a comfortable victory.
Despite the atrocious weather conditions, the Cestrians made it a double Sunday success by winning the Castle Eden Cricket Festival defeating Darlington in the final.
Congratulations to all those in the squad including debutants Robert Smith, Peter Moffat and Josh Wilson.
