Willington progressed to the next stage with a three wickets victory at Esh Winning who were all out for 82 when they made first use of the wicket.
Almost half the total came from two batsmen. Michael Bussey with one six and three boundaries in 27 and David T Thornton scored 13. Walton returned the excellent figures of three for 14, Alderson took three for 18 while Broadley was top wicket taker for Willington ending with an analysis of four for 31. Three bowlers all sent down five overs.
In reply, Willington were given a good send off by openers Alderson (16) and Harker (17) when the partnership was broken when wickets fell quickly especially to Bussey who in five overs captured five wickets for a mere 15 runs. He also took a hat-trick. Ryan McCourt was also among the wickets ending with one for 20 in five overs but Willington edged home replying with 83 for seven.
