Roach continued to prove the mainstay with chub barbel and dace offering some variety.

Darlington rod Lance Todd couldn't believe his luck when he drew noted peg 98 for the second consecutive match and promptly went on to win again.

Opting for waggler and caster to farside cover above bowl hole corner, Lance netted mostly roach but a few chub and two bonus barbel averaging 7.0.0 apiece made all the difference as the scales registered 30.11.0 for a comfortable margin.

A chub bag secured runner up spot for Darlington Centre's Jim Blades.

In a highly competitive Thornaby AA July Cup at Croft to Hurworth Thornaby's Eric Greenwell put together 13.10.0 to just edge it.

Below the road bridge at Croft a stickfloat rig on the whip and caster located all small silver fish as dace chublets and grayling all responded.

A huge Tees bream weighing exactly 10.00 elevated Darlington's Ray Ingram into second place.

Sat on the willows section legered worm brought the all important specimen before adding dace roach and chublets on stickfloat and caster for 13.1.0 from Dave Oxley of Darlington 11.15.0.
