THE spectacular stunts of one of the military's most famous motorcycle display teams will be just one of the attractions at the army's annual open day tomorrow in York.
The White Helmets Royal Signals motorcycle display team will form human pyramids and leap through hoops of fire for visitors in a rare performance in the North of England.
Other attractions will include a freefall display by the Royal Signals Parachute display team and a fly past by Second World War aircraft.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy music from military and cadet bands, Highland dancing, martial arts demonstrations, historical society re-enactments and storytelling and face-painting for younger children.
The open day at the 15 (North East) Brigade's headquarters, Imphal Barracks, Fulford Road, takes place from 11am to 5pm.
Entry will be £3 for a family of up to four and £1.50 for individuals; all proceeds will go to charity.
There will also be a chance to see tanks, tackle an aerial ropeway and climb an army climbing wall or an obstacle course and see all the military hi-tech vehicles and equipment.
Aspiring footballers will be able to try to beat the York City Football City keeper, score goals and learn the best dribbling and football handling skills from other players from the club under supervision from player coach, Lee Nogan.
