NUMBERS are up in more ways than one for a Northallerton school. The second summer ball to be organised by the Friends of Sacred Heart RC Primary attracted more than 50 people - well up on last year.
This ties in with school numbers in general having more than doubled since Sacred Heart opened four years ago.
Headteacher Peter Griffin said the social evening and get-together for parents, governors, staff and friends had proved hugely popular.
Held at Romanby Golf Club, tables for a three-course meal were laid out in school colours and the meal was followed by a disco. Each woman at the event received a single rose.
"It could now be an annual event as it is a great opportunity for people to meet in a different environment and socialise," said Mr Griffin, adding that the event also raised some funds for the school.
Sacred Heart is the smallest primary in Northallerton although its roll has now risen to more than 70 pupils
