CONSTRUCTION services group Pyeroy has won the contract to supply scaffolding to one of the North-East's largest construction projects.
Pyeroy, of Gateshead, has secured the contract to supply the scaffolding systems for Silverlink Property's £55m Trinity Gardens development under construction on Newcastle's central quayside, behind the law courts. The project is due for completion early next year and will transform a largely derelict site into a mix of offices, leisure and residential properties.
Main contractor Taylor Woodrow awarded the £500,000-plus contract to Pyeroy for the supply and erection of more than 1,500 tonnes of scaffolding and associated materials on each of the four main buildings being built on the site. Pyeroy will supply about 21,000sq metres of scaffolding in four phases over a 60-week contract period.
Mark Wilson, divisional manager of Pyeroy's scaffolding division, said: "We have provided scaffolding and access systems for restoration work on most of Newcastle's major landmark structures, including the Tyne Bridge and Grey's Monument and we are delighted to be associated with this exciting new development."
