A SURVEY is being carried out of the birds that live on The Wilton Centre research site, near Redcar, east Cleveland.
The work is part of a wider survey being conducted by members of the Teesmouth Bird Club.
Former ICI employee and club member John Sharp, from Guisborough, who is conducting the work at The Wilton Centre, next to the Wilton chemical complex, said: "The idea is to find out as much as we can about the bird species that live in the old county of Cleveland.
"Industrial sites like The Wilton Centre can support all kinds of wildlife and there are all sorts of birds in the area, including wrens, robins, hedge sparrows and swallows."
