JUDGES from Northumbria in Bloom have visited Ferryhill to view the efforts of the town in this year's competition.
They met local volunteers including some from Endeavour Woodcrafts and the Wood Lane group and were shown around the town's floral highlights, including Dean Bank Park, Surtees Doorstep Green and Mainsforth Sports Complex.
A spokesman for the judges said: "This is a splendid presentation and is a credit to all those involved. The town has come on leaps and bounds over the last five years and has the 'wow' factor, the displays when we first came to Ferryhill ten years ago were not in the same league as those we are greeted with now."
The people of Ferryhill must wait until September to see if they have won anything in this year's competition.
