A YOUNG volunteer at a Ferryhill community centre has received an award for her dedication.
Aimee Rowland, 17, has been presented with the Millennium Volunteers Award for 100 hours of community work supporting play activities at the Ladder Centre.
The activities club for five to 11-year-olds has been funded over the past year by the Local Network Fund, via County Durham Foundation.
Aimee is one of the many volunteers who will be helping with the centre's summer programme of activities starting this week.
A range of special events are planned, plus a summer fete, barbecue and fun day on Saturday, August 21.
The Ladder Centre needs adult volunteers to help with play activities.
For details or to volunteer, call Sandy Denney on (01740) 651639.
