A TROUBLED estate had an overhaul as a multi-agency task force moved in to clean up its image.
The Blitz on Wilton Lane (Bowl) saw the fire, police, youth services, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Coast and Country and McAlpine's joining forces to improve the area for residents.
Coast and Country carried out an intensive programme of grounds maintenance, involving housing repairs, graffiti removal and advice surgeries.
The organisation's Mobile Exhibition Unit was also on site to keep residents informed about the timetable of operations for the week.
The council carried out street cleansing, putting in dog bins near the shops and school, tree maintenance, advice on money and consumer issues, and a junk job catch-up.
Youngsters tried street activities including African drumming, DJ workshops, circus skills, and breakdancing with the Youth Inclusion Project.
