A RESIDENTIAL home's supporters turned up in droves to make a success of its summer fair, despite the bad weather.
Sherburn Hospital, in the hamlet of Sherburn House, near Durham, had to move its activities indoors because of rain, but still raised £1,325 for its Residents' Welfare Fund.
A spokesman said: "We had to cancel the birds of prey and donkey rides because of the weather, but still had plenty to do inside."
The money will go towards taking residents on trips and providing entertainment at the hospital.
