A WORLD-FAMOUS fishing tackle manufacturer is making a comeback after it shed jobs last year.
The House of Hardy, based in Alnwick, Northumberland, is on the brink of expanding into new premises.
The company was forced to make 26 of 100 workers redundant last year as part of restructuring.
But a 14 per cent upturn in performance for the first half of this year has confirmed that Hardys, which counts the Duke of Edinburgh among its customers, is facing a revival.
Managing director Richard Sanderson said: "This should be good news for everybody. We are growing again. We are turning the business around, which is good for the area and our workforce."
A shortage of space at its goods warehouse has led to the company reviewing its options, which could include moving to a new building at Cramlington, Northumberland.
A decision is expected next month or early in September, with any move likely to take place in November.
If the warehouse is relocated, the space in Alnwick will be used for a showroom and an extended shop.
