A COMMERCIAL radio station has announced the new host of its breakfast show.
From next month, Daryl Denham will take over the 5.30am to 9am slot on 100-102 Century FM, vacated by Hartlepool's Paul "Goffy'' Gough in April.
Mr Denham was recently the breakfast presenter with Virgin Radio and last month won the award for best comedy/humour personality at the prestigious New York Festival.
He will take to the North-East airwaves on Monday August 2, replacing Gary and Lisa who have been filling in.
Century FM programme controller Paul Drogan said: "I'm delighted Daryl will be joining the team at 100-102 Century FM to head up our prestigious breakfast show.
"Daryl has perfect credentials for the job; he's funny and spontaneous, down to earth and most importantly a real guy who fits in perfectly with our listeners.''
Mr Denham said: "To be asked to fill the headphones for the biggest radio station is an honour and I am thrilled to take on this challenge.
"To me, the North-East is a brilliant place. I've great friends here and I'm delighted to be a part of people's lives. I'm used to early mornings so getting up won't be a problem."
