A Darlington primary school has been presented with an environment award for its work to reduce litter and promote recycling.
Mount Pleasant Primary School received the Caring for Our Environment Award from Darlington Borough Council.
Last month the school took part in a litter pick arranged by the council in conjunction with McDonald's, when pupils collected litter in the school grounds and learned about caring for their local environment and recycling.
The school also encouraged pupils to create posters promoting the environment which have been displayed in the Northgate branch of McDonald's.
