Durham Senior League: Hopefully the weather will allow a full programme to be completed this week for the first time since the middle of June.
There is no room for any slip-ups though for Boldon, Burnmoor or Hetton Lyons, the leading sides.
Hetton Lyons face a difficult fixture when they travel to Horden, last season's champions, in a game they must not lose, especially with Burnmoor visiting lowly Felling. Leaders Boldon have a tricky home game with Whitburn.
Horden, now out of the running, will be minus the services of Stephen Edwards. Hetton Lyons youngster Michael Walker, who has recently been in the North of England side, retains his place and Graham Davey is also included.
Burnmoor are strengthened by the return of Paul Burn, who is preferred to youngster Alex Ludlow at Felling.
All rounder David Coulson returns to bolster a struggling side and he replaced Chris Parker.
When South Shields visit Seaham Harbour they will hope to go just one better than in their earlier fixture. On that occasion they had nine Harbour wickets down when time was called.
Shields bring in junior player Kris McShane to replace the unavailable Richard Pack. McShane's leg spin will provide a variation to the Shields attack for skipper John Dunn. Neil Swainston is still out injured for Seaham, but Paul Snaith returns.
Graeme Fox and David Wills both had four wickets each when Marsden won at South Hetton in May. The pair will spearhead Marsden's attack today along with Philip Bell, who picked up six for 17 in his last match. The hard hitting Mark Scott is not available and this coincides with Michael Gandy's return to duty.
Eppleton take on Durham City without Gary Hulme. The bowler has long associations with City and he will be disappointed at missing the game. Also out is Neil McKinney, who is injured. This means a chance for Anthony Anderson and Elliott Hughes to impress.
Durham expect to have their usual squad to select from. Desperately in need of points to move off the basement, Durham will need to improve on the batting they showed in the earlier meeting. Hulme picked up four for 16 and Durham were all out for 63.
The League entertain the Derbyshire County League at Marsden tomorrow in the President's Trophy and have named this side: - C Ellison, A Thorpe (Whitburn), S Birbeck, D Lowther (Eppleton), A Robson, J Laws (Horden), P Shakespeare, R Potter (Boldon), G Wright (Felling), J Dunn (South Shields), C Mann (Marsden).
