A ROLLERCOASTER ride of summer reading for children has been organised.
Libraries and information centres across North Yorkshire are taking part in the 6th Summer Reading Challenge, a scheme designed to inspire reading among children.
This year's theme is the reading rollercoaster. Children can play rollercoaster-inspired games and collect free gifts, including stickers and bookmarks.
Councillor Carl Les, the executive member for libraries, said: "Our library and information staff know that books and computers can work together to inspire children to read.
"Once again the challenge will offer a state-of-the-art website using the latest technology to introduce children to 12 of the UK's top authors, including children's laureate Michael Morpurgo."
The scheme runs until September 6. To take part, call in to your local library or visit www.reading rollercoaster.org.uk
