A MAN has been arrested following the discovery of suspicious items at a house.
The items, including bottles filled with petrol and apparently fitted with makeshift fuses, were found by council workers who were called in to clear a vacant house in Burnsville Road, Grangetown, Teesside.
Following the discovery, they contacted police and the street was cordoned off while the items were examined.
The Teesside Waste Management Centre, in Dockside Road, Middlesbrough, was also cordoned off because council workers had already disposed of bags of rubbish from the property, which had been taken to the centre before the bottles were discovered.
A 46-year-old man voluntarily attended Redcar police station on Saturday in connection with the discovery and was arrested.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said the public was in no danger during the incident.
