MEMBERS of a Lioness Club have raised £500 to help vulnerable people in the Hambleton district.
The Northallerton Lady Lionesses donated the money to to Broadacres Housing Association for its Hambleton Lifeline, an emergency system for its customers.
Hambleton Lifeline managers are considering introducing detectors for people who are prone to falling over or losing consciousness.
The money will help provide detectors, which are worn on a person's waistband and send an alarm to the Hambleton Lifeline Control Centre if they slump or fall.
Control centre staff then ensure that the person obtains immediate assistance.
