TWO people have been questioned by police over the death of a North-East toddler.
The two-year-old boy, from Hartlepool, died in Newcastle General Hospital on Friday from severe head injuries.
Kyle Fisher had been taken to the University Hospital of Hartlepool on Wednesday night, but was transferred to Newcastle shortly afterwards, where he was treated in the intensive care unit.
A 19-year-old woman, who was arrested on Friday night in connection with the death, has been released on police bail.
Police said yesterday they had arrested a 34-year-old Hartlepool woman. She was released without charge last night.
Detective Inspector Michael Wall, who is leading the investigation, said: "The death is being treated as suspicious."
Police were called to Kyle's home in Troutpool Close, on the Central Estate, on Wednesday, and the house was cordoned off while searches were carried out.
A neighbour said: "He was a lovely little lad. He was always shouting 'hello' to people and playing with all the kids round here."
