MMP Construction has reinforced its reputation for working in the education sector with a further £1.5m worth of contracts.
It brings the company's total number of commissions within education to more than 60 in the past 12 months.
The company is now set to expand its education portfolio further with large works at nine schools.
The schools set to benefit from MMP's experience include Ferryhill Business and Enterprise College, County Durham, Hawes Community Primary School, North Yorkshire, St Bede's Roman Catholic School, in Lanchester, County Durham, and St Bede's, in Peterlee, County Durham.
Usworth Grange Primary School, in Washington, Wearside, and Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic School, in Peterlee, are also undergoing alterations, as are St Teresa's Roman Catholic School, in Hartlepool, St Leonard's Roman Catholic Comprehensive, in Durham, and Our Lady of Lourdes, in Shotton.
The majority of the work will start this month while the schools are closed for the summer holidays, and is due for completion before the school year begins in September.
MMP construction director Gavin Vest said: "MMP has developed a strong reputation in the education sector and we continue to build on this month by month.
"Improving the education facilities for children across the region is extremely important and MMP is proud to deliver high-quality surroundings for children around the North-East."
The latest contracts represent the largest series of education projects that MMP has been involved in at any one time.
Mr Vest said: "Nearly all of these projects will be taking place during the summer holidays and have to be completed in time for the new school year, and I am sure that our experienced team will rise to the challenge and provide all of the children with first-class facilities ready for their return."
MMP's other education projects carried out in the past six months include a sports hall at Mill Hill School, in Sunderland, a sports and arts facility at Ebchester CoE Primary School, in County Durham, and kitchen alterations at Our Lady and St Thomas, in Willington, County Durham.
MMP Construction is a division of M&M Plasline Limited, established in 1986.
Based in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, M&M Plasline employs 270 people.
