A TEENAGER is hoping to become the face of a pizza company. Gemma Wood, 13, from Brasside, Durham, is in the final of the Goodfella's Deeply Delicious pizzas "Grinner" competition as the local heat winner.
Hundreds of people took part in the contest, at the Sunderland Airshow at the weekend, and Gemma emerged the regional heat winner.
She will be going to London in October to join the other five heat winners from around the UK in a bid to be one of the faces of Goodfellas.
The two overall winners will receive a prize of £2,500 and return to London for a photo shoot for the posters. They will receive three month's supply of free pizza and feature on billboards around the country.
Caroline Hutchinson, Debra Ridly, Richard Kilgower and Graham Knight were the runners up.
Gemma received a digital camera and a month's supply of Goodfella's pizza. The four runners up each received a T-shirt and a week's supply of pizza.
