A vehicle sharing scheme in County Durham is looking for volunteers to put on the road to success.
The scheme, funded by the Countryside Agency and Durham County Council, will lead to a vehicle being made available to community groups in need of transport.
Drivers will need accredited Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (Midas) training to use the vehicle.
Midas training is funded by a partnership of the county council, the Rural Transport Partnerships (RTP) of east and west Durham and the Durham Dales Healthy Living Partnership.
The volunteers must enrol on the county council's vehicle sharing scheme voluntary driver database in the scheme, which aims to increase the number of drivers available for community and charitable groups.
County council vehicle sharing officer Lilian Bleanch said: "This is an excellent opportunity for people to serve their community and gain new skills."
Volunteers interested in Midas training can contact Ms Bleanch on 0191-383 4875.
