AN award-winning flowerbed designed by children is on display in Darlington's South Park.
Four pupils from Haughton Community School won a competition to design Darlington's entry for the Royal Horticultural Society's Flower Show at Tatton Park, near Manchester.
Their creation, which won a silver gilt award at the event earlier this month, can now be enjoyed by visitors to the park.
The flower-bed, called Quaker Town, was designed by Victoria Wilson and Charlene Hind, both 14, and Emily Harkin and Catherine Hay, both 11.
Staff at Darlington Borough Council's Woodburn Nursery, and gardeners from Nubeck Nursery, which provides gardening training for people with learning disabilities, planted the bed.
Councillor Lee Vasey, Darlngton Borough Council's cabinet member for leisure, said: "The floral display is excellent. I really hope lots of people visit the park so that they can see this wonderful piece of work for themselves."
