A groundswell of objectors is lining up to oppose continued use of a North Yorkshire woodland as a paintball park and quad biking track.
Goldsborough Parish Council has been joined by the Ramblers' Association, British Horse Society and Bridleways' Association in protesting about the site at Flaxby Covert, near Knaresborough.
Although the site has been used for paintballing and quad biking since January last year, a retrospective planning application by HPC Outdoor Pursuits will be considered by an area planning committee of Harrogate Borough Council on Tuesday.
Planning officer Neville Watson is urging approval if a management plan mitigating against adverse nature conservation interest is submitted by the applicants.
