A MIDLANDS band will perform at the weekend to raise money for a North-East child with a rare skull condition.
Derbyshire band Vida will perform at the Glaxo Sports and Social Club, in Barnard Castle, on Saturday, in aid of the Jake Jones Appeal.
Jake, from Staindrop, suffers from craniosynostosis, a rare condition where the plates in the skull are fused together and cannot grow.
The brother of one of the band members lives in Staindrop, so Vida have agreed to perform without charge.
An auction will also be held, with lots including a signed Middlesbrough FC football, a hand-made rocking horse and hedge-trimmers. A raffle will offer a man's mountain bike as the first prize.
The Jake Jones Appeal stands at just over £8,000. The most recent donation came from Staindrop Beavers, who held a sponsored silence and raised £100.
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7pm, cost £5 and can be obtained at the door or by telephoning (01833) 660802
