A PATIENTS' group has welcomed a boost in the rating of Hambleton and Richmondshire Primary Care Trust (PCT).
The Patient and Public Involvement Forum (PPI) was delighted to see the PCT move up from a one to three-star rating in results published by the Healthcare Commission.
Anne Veasey, chairman of the PPI Forum, said: "We congratulate the PCT on the increase in its star rating, which is thoroughly deserved.
"The PCT cares about treatment of patients and this is apparent in the help and encouragement they give us and their readiness to include us in discussions."
The forum says it will continue to work with the PCT on many of the issues identified in its work programme, including the management of chronic diseases, dentistry and chiropody.
The forum has been working closely with the PCT since PPIs were set up in December.
