ORGANISERS of the Northern Proms are expecting the musical extravaganza to be blessed with good weather tomorrow.
The event at Riverside, Chester-le-Street, from 6pm to 10.30pm, will feature international operatic stars Graeme Danby, Valerie Reid and Bethany Halliday.
Local support acts include the Will Todd Jazz Trio, the Felling Male Voice Choir and The Riverside Band.
The evening will end with a fireworks finale, against the backdrop of Lumley Castle.
Reduced price tickets are available until noon today. Prices are adults £20 (£27 on day), under 18s £10 (£17 on day). Family tickets - five people, maximum two adults £50 (£70 on day).
Visitors are encouraged to bring flags, picnic rugs, tables, chairs, and candelabras.
