MURDER hunt detectives have discovered how a North-East toddler met his death.
However, Cleveland Police are refusing to reveal publicly how two-and-a-half year old Kyle Fisher received his head injuries.
Initially, police had been told the Hartlepool boy had collapsed at the home of a babysitter, on Wednesday last week.
Detective Superintendent Tony Hutchinson, joint head of the force's Murder Investigation Team, said last night: "It would be fair to say I now know how Kyle died and what type of injuries were inflicted upon him, which ultimately led to his death.''
Kyle was rushed by ambulance from the town's Central Estate, where he lived, to the University Hospital of Hartlepool, then transferred under police escort to Newcastle General Hospital. He died last Friday.
Detective Superintendent Hutchinson last night appealed for the public's help in tracking down the killer. He said it was crucial investigators were told who Kyle was with and where he had been.
He said of people on the estate: "Everyone is shocked. Their lives have been touched by the death of Kyle."
