THE battle to win the commercial radio franchise for the Northallerton area is continuing, with one of the contenders starting a 28-day trial broadcast today.
Hambleton Radio will broadcast for 24 hours a day on 87.7FM. The station is one of two vying for the franchise. Rivals Northallerton Local Radio held a 28-day trial broadcast earlier this year.
Last month, broadcasting regulator Ofcom approved a station covering Northallerton and the surrounding area, including Thirsk. The station should go on air full-time next year.
