THE annual City to City Ramble is to take place on Sunday, August 8, between Penshaw Monument and Durham Cathedral.
Walkers will leave Penshaw Monument at 10am to set off on the 12-mile walk to arrive at the world heritage site of Durham Cathedral at 4.30pm.
The walk will follow a route past Finchale Abbey and along the River Wear with transport provided to take walkers back to Sunderland.
Walkers taking part will be accompanied by members of Sunderland's Countryside Team that will provide expert commentary on the local wildlife and history along the journey.
