THE sound of open-air opera is returning to North Yorkshire following the success of a show last year.
Opera Brava's version of La Boheme proved a hit when it played at Fountain's Abbey, near Ripon, last summer.
The company is returning to the same venue on August 13 and 14 to perform open-air versions of Rossini's The Barber of Seville and Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro.
Opera Brava is a group of young professional singers whose aim is to bring opera to as wide an audience as possible by performing operas in English, while also providing entertainment, which can be enjoyed by all members of the family.
Both operas are to be performed on the Abbey's West Green, to provide an intimate and atmospheric setting.
The shows will be suitable for all ages and people are being encouraged to take a picnic and rug or garden chairs.
For tickets, priced at £21.50 for adults and £17 for children, call (01765) 643199 or (01765) 643164.
