FOUR people arrested in connection with an alleged firebomb attack have been released on police bail.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 9pm in West Cornforth High Street last Monday.
Two home-made petrol bombs were thrown at a police personnel carrier containing three officers and two community support officers.
No one was hurt in the incident, but the vehicle suffered minor smoke damage from the resulting fire, which was quickly extinguished by officers.
Two youths and two adults were arrested in a raid in the village, involving 30 police, early on Friday.
Two youths and two adults, aged 20 and 26, were questioned by police at Newton Aycliffe before being released pending further inquiries.
